Professional Background

Dr. Matt Whitaker joined the CRC family in 2019. He has worked for Newberry Physical Therapy & Sports Medicine Clinic (our sister company) since 2008. He received his B.S. in Exercise Science: Motor Development from the University of South Carolina in 2004 and graduated from the Medical University of South Carolina with a Doctorate in Physical Therapy in 2008. Matt's clinical interests include spinal instability, complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS), balance/vestibular dysfunction, manual therapy, and evidence based research. He is a board-certified specialist in orthopedic physical therapy, mastered levels I and II of Spinal Manipulation Institute, and is certified in Dry Needling.

Personal

Matt and his family reside in Chapin. Matt's hobbies include gardening, fishing, and hunting. He enjoys spending time with his wife Rachael and his two sons, Grafton and Rhett.
